The Story can be used an an Easter musical, or any time during the church year. Or pull out the hymn arrangements and use them as extended anthems throughout the year. Written for SATB choir - adult, youth, children, soloists and congregation. Calls for a male lead and a female lead to provide narration as well as solos, and the congregation follows a worship program (printed on pages 2 and 3 which can be reproduced in the bulletin).
Of moderate difficulty, with many familiar hymn tunes used throughout. The piece is divided into four "stories", including the selections:
- The Creation Story - with I Love To Tell the Story, Tell Me the Story of Jesus, In the Beginning God Created, O God Our Help in Ages Past, This is My Father’s World, Praise to the Lord the Almighty and Holy Holy Holy
- The Love Story - Let Us Break Bread Together, The Church’s One Foundation, There is A Fountain, Whiter than Snow and Open My Eyes
- The Redemption Story - The Old Rugged Cross, Were You There?, At the Cross, Near the Cross, Grace Greater than Our Sin, Amazing Grace, He Looked Beyond My Fault, Jesus Paid it All, And Can it Be?, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, Christ Arose, and Christ the Lord is Risen Today.
- The Final Story - Blessed Assurance, Praise Him! Praise Him!, Blessed Be the Name, Take the Name of Jesus WIth You, O Come Let Us Adore Him, Fairest Lord Jesus, All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name, Crown Him with Many Crowns, Epilogue - I Love to Tell the Story
